Flux S Smart Roller T2900S
Tacx Flux S Smart T2900S roller
The Flux is a compact, realistic and maintenance-free interactive direct drive roller. The response of the roller is immediate, the Smart electronics together with the 7 kg flywheel transmit the variations of effort, even the thinnest, directly to your legs.
Of all the rollers Tacx the Flux has the heaviest flywheel, with a perceptible effect of up to 23 kg. The higher the inertia of the flywheel, the more realistic the pedaling experience will be. It uses ANT+ and Bluetooth® Smart language to communicate and can be connected wirelessly to smartphones and tablets. The ANT+ and FE-C protocol allows you to train with the Tacx App but also with third-party apps such as Zwift and TrainerRoad. You can use the roller even without any connection, if you do not connect it to anything it will simulate a flat path.
Connecting to your PC
Do you have a Flux Smart and are looking to get everything that apps can Tacx give you? You can achieve this by connecting the trainer to your computer. This way you can train with the Tacx Trainer 4 Advanced Software. Unlike your tablet or smartphone, you can use your computer to adjust resistance and see performance data. For example, the software on the PC offers longer videos and in HD or Blu-Ray resolution. As you pedal, the resistance to your rear wheel is automatically adjusted when the slope increases or decreases.
To connect the Flux Smart to your Windows PC you need the Smart Upgrade, this package contains the 4 Advanced software trainer, a handlebar mount controller and the ANT+ antenna.
Electromagnetic brake
The Flux Smart roller works with an electronic brake. Placing magnets and electromagnets around a rotating aluminum disc generates Focault currents and generate an opposite magnetic field. In this way, a contact-less and maintenance-free brake is created, which is also extremely quiet. Thanks to the electronic brake, the appropriate resistance can be set to simulate both the flat road and the mountain.
Virtual Speed
When you are cycling in a virtual reality or in a movie you risk exceeding the performance for which the electronic brake is designed. To allow riders using rollers equipped with electronic resistance to compete against rivals equipped with electric brakes in Multiplayer challenges, Tacx has developed virtual speed. This feature translates the additional energy required into speed, so as to ensure an equal comparison. If this speed differs from the speed at which the rear wheel actually turns, it is shown in red on the screen.
Software & Apps
You can connect the Smart trainer Tacx to your smartphone, tablet or computer with ANT+ or Bluetooth Smart to use our software and apps, or that of others. You can also use it independently, without connecting the trainer to any device. This means that you are completely free to choose the software you prefer to use for your indoor workouts.
With our software and apps you can adjust your training based on heart rate, slope and power, or you can choose a famous race course. In addition to that you can also compete online with other cyclists. Trainer options vary depending on the application used.
Compatible sprocket cassettes
The Flux has a universal EDCO Multisys body compatible with all Shimano and SRAM cassettes, and most Campagnolo cassettes. The compatibility or not of the latter depends on the number of notches of the cassette. Cassettes with 8 notches unfortunately cannot be mounted.
Below is the list of NOT compatible cassettes: 10v
Current series: Veloce, Centaur.
10v previous series: Record Ti, Record, Chorus, Centaur, Veloce.
