Improved formula (from January 2012): thanks to the addition of micro silicate particles, Caffélatex flows more slowly through the holes, giving the sealant more time to repair the puncture. These particles are NOT macroscopic (such as glitter, with a diameter between 150 and 300 microns), but rather microscopic, since the dimensions remain below 2 microns. So the flow of Caffélatex changes in an almost imperceptible way avoiding problems of obstruction of the typical valves instead with the use of glitter. Repair times are now 5 times faster than the previous formulation; This improvement is significantly more evident with the use of lightweight or thin-carcassed tyres.
