Cervelo S5 Bike - Shimano Dura Ace Di2 12s - Five Black

The new S5 has reduced aerodynamic drag by 65 grams and increased the surface area of the frame, while reducing the overall weight. The more pronounced frame sections maximize the shapes allowed by the UCI. The iconic V-mount has been further refined and the new fork has been designed to simplify the entire front end. In addition, a revolutionary new wheel design concept has been developed in collaboration with Reserve to increase stability and reduce drag in turbulent conditions.

"V" FOR SPEED

In search of speed, everyone wants to try different positions to find the most aggressive set-up. The S5's iconic V-mount not only inspires confident handling at high speeds, but it's now also remarkably easy to find the perfect set-up. All the necessary spacers come with the bike and there is now only one length of fixing screws, thus reducing the complexity of mounting and making the system a whopping 53 grams lighter.

IMPROVED CHASSIS

The new UCI aerodynamic design regulations have allowed for more space to delve into the aero profiles and squeeze an extra 65 grams of drag out of what is already the fastest aero bike on the market. You'll notice a head tube and BB area with an increased profile and more aggressive shaping on the outer edges of the tubes.

TIRE CLEARANCE

Wider wheels and tires are faster from an aerodynamic point of view and also more comfortable. The new S5 has clearance for tires up to 34 mm (measured) and is optimized for the new Reserve wheels which are wider and equipped with 28 mm tires. These wheels, developed as part of the Turbulent Aero protocols, save just over 5 watts compared to the previous Reserve wheelset.

REFINED HANDLEBAR

Cervélo improved the comfort of the handlebars and changed the shape of the handlebars to achieve a better transition between the flat and low ends. Instead of the shims present on the previous handlebar of the S5 he used a new interface with two fixing screws that allows a better adjustment of the inclination between 0 and 5 degrees.

WE MAKE IT EASY

Riders of all skill levels are moving away from longer-offset seatposts, and the new S5 comes with a 15mm offset seatpost on most sizes (versus the previous S5's 25mm offset). The old seatposts are compatible and we will keep the 400mm seatpost with 25mm offset in stock for those looking for a more extreme fit.
