We have been working on this shorts for 15 years. It's been a long time since the original Free Aero Race Bibshort was first unveiled, initially as our top-of-the-line race shorts. Since then it has won three Tour de France, three Giro d'Italia, a Vuelta and a San Remo but it has also become the best-selling product in the history of Castelli because, to put it bluntly, this is the shorts that knows how to do everything right. The basic concept is simple: start from the best padding we are able to do, surround it with shorts capable of offering support with good muscle compression and then remove everything that is not strictly essential. You feel free thanks to the reduced number of panels and the reduced number of seams. In fact, the legs have only 5 panels compared to the 10 of the previous generation. You feel free thanks to the further refinements of the Progetto X² Air seamless chamois. The two foam densities in addition to the gel pads offer progressive cushioning while the separate Skin Care Layer is soft and elastic to move with your skin. You feel free thanks to the most minimalist construction you'll ever see in shorts, including open-weave suspenders for maximum ventilation. We have reinforced the area where the suspenders fork so that they remain well in place and we have given a narrow shape to the back jersey for essential coverage, just enough to keep the shorts in place. The shorts elegantly frame a comfortable central pocket on the back. You feel free because this is the first high-end shorts that does not need any type of gripper or elastic on the bottom leg to keep it in place. It took 28 prototypes and our most extensive test program ever to achieve this result, which is the most comfortable leg bottom we've ever done. Forza 2 fabric has 32% Lycra® with a high modulus of elasticity for exceptional muscle support and the right amount of compression. A reflective insert is placed on the back. The logos are all either sewn or embossed for greater resistance over time.
