This feature supports the chain more and has enough space for automatic cleaning in case of mud. The Direct Mount option allows spider-free attachment, simplifying and lightening the final weight of the component. It is compatible with SRAM 1x cranks. The Direct Mount ring is not compatible with 28mm cranks because they do not require a compensation ring.
