The two cranks made of UD carbon fiber mount AISI 630 steel half-pins, in line with the skilful combination of materials of the entire Ekar group, in order to obtain lightweight components, but with maximum efficiency and durability.
The new ProTech ™ technology combines the two half-pins inside the bottom bracket, with a single resistant screw. The oversized stainless steel bearing is located on the crank, keyed on the half-pin, for maximum smoothness and strength - and to be easily accessible for inspection and maintenance, without having to disassemble the shells.
There are four gear options: Adventure has 38 teeth; Pure Gravel is 40T, Fast Gravel is 42T and eGravel is 44T. Their optimized design provides efficient transmission and maximum chain reliability.
The lightweight and resistant 7075 aluminum crowns are easily interchangeable: you can simply unscrew them from the four arms of the crank without the need to disassemble the crankset. The four arms, set asymmetrically for optimal load distribution, have a bolt gyro of 123 mm. Changing gears is a simple and efficient way to change your relationship as you tackle different types of routes.
The Ekar crankset features four crank length options – 165, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm – to suit cyclists and bikes of all types. For some gravel bikes with bottom bracket basso, the shorter cranks are the most used to avoid running aground on uneven and unpredictable surfaces.
A Q-factor of 145.5mm provides a comfortable and efficient pedaling style, whatever your size.

Pro-Tech™
Pro-Tech's ™ patented dual-seal technology securely connects the two half-pins inside the bottom bracket and protects the bearings from water and mud ingress, providing high-performance longevity, even in the worst conditions. The innovative and proven Ultra-Torque™ technology has been developed in a gravel key: the Hirth joint of the Pro-Tech™ system has self-centering and self-aligning teeth located in the center of the crank where the ends of the integrated half-pins meet. The pins are fastened together with a single protected oversized screw, their precise coupling can even overcome the misalignment that some carbon frames can have thanks to the tiny tolerance differences in their manufacture.
The torque transmission of the Pro-Tech™ crank system is as efficient as that of a single thru-axle and is lighter. Moreover, being better protected than other systems, it is also more durable. The oversized stainless steel bearing on the crank, on the outside of the bottom bracket shells, offers maximum rigidity, smoothness and resistance thanks to the increased diameter of the pins.
