FEATURES
TECHNOLOGIES
Mountain bikers have been using RapidFire Plus since 1985 and are still the winning choice for a wide range of styles, from XC racing to Freeride. The RapidFire Plus shift controls are suitable for quick shifting and offer the ability to downshift three ratios with a single lever drive.
The RapidFire Plus gear release lever is typically called a "trigger" because it works like the trigger of a gun, which is pulled in the direction of the knob. The release lever of the RapidFire Plus gearbox controls from Shimano Alivio to XTR can be operated in this same way but guarantees the possibility of activating a release shift through the push of the thumb.
The Instant Release shift action replaces the two-stage shift action, with click and release, to which we are accustomed. The Instant Release shift action releases the cable as soon as the lever is activated, ensuring the fastest possible shifting. Whether it's a shift with a Top Normal gearbox or a downshift with a Low Normal gearbox, a faster shift is always an advantage.
Multi Release
Previous shifting systems were faster in one direction than the other. The choice between Top Normal and Low Normal always involved giving up the speed of shifting in one of the two directions. Now, with Multi Release, you can change two ratios with a single shift action. The result: the highest possible shift speed in both directions, regardless of the choice of gearbox.
