The Ekar rear derailleur has been designed using Campagnolo's unrivalled experience and ingenuity, developed and refined over 90 years of innovation. While the Ekar rear derailleur shares the heritage and research behind our groupsets since the Super Record, this all-new design has been created specifically for gravel. The dedicated 1x system and the 13 speeds make it effective, the use of the 9-tooth sprocket allows the birth of a complete range of gears with short and equidistant gearboxes and well-maintained cadence levels. The technology, design and material have been chosen to meet the specific performance needs of all-road and gravel lovers, the combination of quick, precise and reliable shifts combined with the high safety of the chain, lightness, durability and robustness make it rightfully enter the all-road arena. The mid-length cage shifter design is compatible with the different sprocket sizes on all three cassette shifting options, from 9-36 to 10-44, perfect for any gravel needs. The 2D trajectory of the parallelogram is designed specifically for the Ekar 1x system, so that the gearbox makes precise mechanical movements to make the best use of the 13 sprockets. Its wheels with different number of teeth guarantee optimal operation and high chain retention to ensure safety and peace of mind, whatever the terrain you face. The clutch, permanently engaged for increased chain retention reliability and minimal operating noise, can be locked forward for easy wheel removal. In the Ekar gearbox alone, there are more than 70 carefully designed and engineered individual parts. Carbon fiber reinforced polyamide and anodized alloys 7075 and 6082 are expertly combined in the body and rocker arm of the Ekar rear derailleur to achieve the best combination of strength, durability and lightness, for reliable long-term operation and to ensure excellent resistance to impacts, sand and dust of gravel trails while the screws have been made of stainless steel to ensure long-term strength and resilience in gravel trails more difficult conditions.
