With the entry of new and more versatile disciplines in the "road" category, the Fulcrum engineering team faced a very special challenge to ensure that the wheel models maintained their performance and speed characteristics in the most varied conditions. After focusing on wheels with extremely specific settings for use on the road or in MTB, the Fulcrum engineers collaborated to develop a solution that combined the know-how of both disciplines, in order to create excellent wheels capable of tackling any type of little travel. The result of this engineering collaboration is represented by an extraordinarily versatile wheel model, with performance able to meet the needs of those who do not favor a specific type of terrain.

Fulcrum is proud to present the Rapid Red wheel line, a basso profile solution for cyclists who do not wish to be framed in a single discipline. Rapid Red wheels do not belong to a single category, as they are ideal for mixed surfaces faced by cyclists who do not miss anything. Their internal 23 mm channel is perfectly compatible with 32 mm - 46 mm (700c)/40 mm - 60 mm (650B) tires, and the 2-Way Fit Ready structure allows you to mount both a tubeless cover and a clincher. Because B-Road cycling is all about versatility, Rapid Red wheel versions offer a wide variety of tyres (tubeless or clinchers) of different types and sizes, as well as a choice of 700c and 650B sizes, ensuring perfect tuning and compatibility whatever the personal preferences of each individual rider. Whether it's long distances on the road, mixed surfaces or situations closer to the "road plus", which require larger tires with better grip, all cyclists will find the solution that best suits their needs or, to be precise, the most suitable solutions among those offered by the Rapid Red range.

Disc brake-specific wheel models adopt an AFS standard and ensure the same degree of high reliability that cyclists expect from Fulcrum wheels for both on- and off-road use. The robust aluminium wheels with basso profile measure only 24 mm both front and rear and, considering the 24 steel spokes and lightweight aluminium hubs, register a decidedly respectable weight. Despite their weight efficiency, the wheels are robust enough to fit into the ASTM 2 category, thanks to the proven Fulcrum manufacturing quality that distinguishes the specific designs applied to the new Rapid Red overall structure.

What is it?
To ensure maximum performance and reliability of its products, each project, before the industrialization phase, must go through a series of very strict tests that validate what until then had been designed and designed (fatigue test, crash test, tyre burst test, environmental test, manual 100% assembly and electronic control).
That's why, starting from the 2012 range, Fulcrum wanted to equip each wheel (racing, mtb or cyclocross) with its own identity card (F.I.C.), through which it is assigned the unique code that identifies it and certifies the manual assembly and the passing of all the ® tests required by the strict quality protocol.

AFS Axle System™
The Axial Fixing System™ is the solution developed by Fulcrum® to attach the disc brake to the hub. The constraint conferred by the fixing impact surface, greater than in the standards already known, allows to acquire greater structural rigidity and therefore a more precise and powerful braking.
