Cervelo S5 Force eTap AXS Sapphire/Ice Bike

The new S5 has reduced drag by 65 grams and increased the surface area of the frame, while reducing the overall weight. The more pronounced frame sections maximize the shapes allowed by the UCI. The iconic V-mount has been further refined and the new fork has been designed to simplify the entire front end.

In addition, a revolutionary new wheel design concept has been developed in collaboration with Reserve to increase stability and reduce drag in turbulent conditions.

"V" FOR SPEED

In search of speed, everyone wants to try different positions to find the most aggressive set-up. The S5's iconic V-mount not only inspires confident handling at high speeds, but it's now also remarkably simple to find the perfect set-up. All the necessary spacers come with the bike and there is now only one length of fixing screws, thus reducing the complexity of assembly and making the system a whopping 53 grams lighter.

IMPROVED CHASSIS

The new UCI aerodynamic design regulations have allowed more space to delve deeper into aerodynamic profiles and squeeze 65 grams more drag out of what is already the fastest aerodynamic bike on the market. You'll notice a head tube and BB area with an increased profile and a more aggressive shaping on the outer edges of the tubes. 

TIRE CLEARANCE

Wider wheels and tires are aerodynamically faster and more comfortable. The new S5 has clearance for tires up to 34 mm (measured) and is optimized for the new Reserve wheels which are wider and equipped with 28 mm tires. These wheels, developed as part of the Turbulent Aero protocols, save just over 5 watts compared to the previous Reserve wheelset.

REFINED HANDLEBAR

Cervélo has improved the comfort of the handlebars and we have modified its shape to achieve a better transition between the flat and low parts. Instead of the shims present on the previous handlebar of the S5, it has used a new interface with two fixing screws that allows a better adjustment of the inclination between 0 and 5 degrees.

MAKING IT EASY

Riders of all levels are moving away from longer offset seatposts, and the new S5 comes with a 15mm offset seatpost on most sizes (versus the previous S5's 25mm offset). The old seatposts are compatible, and we will keep the 400mm seatpost with 25mm offset in stock for those looking for a more extreme fit.
