Effetto Mariposa Shelter Frame Protection Roll 54MMX1
Shelter Off-Road protects against impacts(*) – dispersing the energy inside its structure -, resists abrasion, the most common solvents, does not yellow and has a semi-structural adhesion(**) to the surface on which it is glued: it is therefore not affected by normal bicycle washes, but can still be removed – if necessary – without damage to the underlying paint.
1. After removing cables or other elements that could hinder it, clean the surface on which Shelter will stick with alcohol and a clean rag. Remove any dry residue of alcohol with a dry, clean cloth.
2. Take the suitable Shelter pre-cut element or cut a piece of Shelter of desired shape and size, without removing the protective paper.
3. Fold a portion of the Shelter protective paper to a length of 25 mm, freeing the adhesive surface (DO NOT TOUCH THE ADHESIVE SURFACE WITH YOUR FINGERS).
4. Adhere the adhesive surface of Shelter to the surface you want to protect, applying even, constant pressure with your thumb.
5. Progressively remove the rest of the protective paper as Shelter is placed on the gluing surface. Starting from the center, apply a constant pressure of the thumbs proceeding slowly outwards.
Shelter resists UV rays, a common cause of yellowing of other protective films, and thus also protects the paint of the underlying frame from discoloration.
ATTENTION: after the removal of the Shelter color differences between protected and non-protected areas are possible, in the case of fluorescent paints or bright colors.
The transmission of vibrational energy through any structure can be reduced by adding visco-elastic elements in some places. That's exactly what Shelter does, not only protecting rigid carbon frames from shocks but also reducing vibrations.
