SRAM pushes the boundaries once again with its Powerdome X XG-1090 10-speed cassette. Light, stiff, fast, and quiet thanks to its ultra-strong, hollow, one-piece design and StealthRing elastomers, this cassette is worthy of even the finest road bikes. SRAM has added elastomer rings between each sprocket to create a “base” where the chain plates interface with the sprocket. These StealthRing elastomer rings ensure quiet operation. It's also lightweight, with the small 11-tooth sprocket separated from the remaining 9 sprockets, milled from a solid block of tool steel pressed onto a single aluminum sprocket (the largest). And to further reduce weight, excess material in the space between each sprocket is milled away.
