Thus, in the new Shimano XT 12V group, the SM-CRM85 chainring has the modifications that offer astonishing operation and advantages: precision, practicality, lightness and resistance over time.

Specifically: the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ technology with a Narrow/Wide tooth profile offers better chain stability, while the Direct Mount system greatly simplifies the mounting of the chainring, making the drivetrain even more practical and functional.

The XT FC-M8100-1 cranks are designed to create a perfect "pair" with the SM-CRM85 single chainring. The hollow construction, a wide range of lengths and the Direct Mount system, which makes it easy to mount/replace the chainring, offer a crankset with reduced weight and superior functionality.

Hollowtech Crank Arm

Hollow forged cranks. An ultra-light crankset not only reduces the weight of the bike, but also reduces the rotating mass, making it easier to accelerate. The goal of the Shimano was to reduce the weight of the crankset without reducing its strength and stiffness. Their advanced forging technology solved the problem with the Hollowtech crankset. As is the case with high-quality frame tubes, a hollow crank arm can provide incredible strength and stiffness with a very low weight.

Dynamic chain engagement+

Teeth with special function. Shimano 's Dynamic Chain Engagement+ system is based on a special tooth profile for use in single chainring configurations for XC, Enduro and Trail Riding. The system increases the retention force of the chain and allows for a smoother ride even on uneven surfaces, reducing abrasion and wear.
