Description

The "Shamal" project has always represented the challenge towards the future for Campagnolo . Born in 1992, it was the first complete wheel that introduced the concept of high profile, an aerodynamic design that was absolutely revolutionary for the time and immediately successful.

The innovative element lies in the design of the wheel called Dual Profile. A different modular profile perfected in the vento tunnel and with road tests that - combined with hubs with differentiated flange - allows the adoption of shorter spokes, to the benefit of overall rigidity, without the cyclist sacrificing comfort when pedaling.

As in previous models, the new Shamal - Dual Profile also adopts a fiber with a C-LUX finish, a solution that, translated on the road, allows optimal rideability in all conditions, even with wide tires allowing it to be used even in gravel.

The anima of the new Campagnolo Shamal is also evident from the 2 Way Fit system, with which the cyclist can choose between the classic clincher and inner tube or the tubeless solution, the latter is allowed by the upper deck without holes, thus avoiding the use of sealing tape.

The spokes are arranged with the G3 lacing geometry, an iconic signature of the Campagnolo production, a patented system that ensures the cyclist the perfect balance of tensioning and the best stiffness for the transfer of the power generated by the pedals.

The smoothness of the new Shamal Campagnolo is entrusted to aluminum hubs with a cone-cup system, which allows easy maintenance of the bearings. Compared to the previous model, the new materials adopted allow a weight saving of over one hectogram, thus reaching a weight of 1,480 grams.

The iconic G3 geometry Campagnolo poses a challenge to conventional road bike wheel spoke configuration. Groups of three parallel straight-head spokes are arranged in a 2:1 ratio.
