Every element of the innovative OSPW cage is made of innovative and high quality materials, the oversized aluminum pulleys have been flanked by the extraordinary ceramicspeed bearings that allow to minimize the friction that is created during pedaling.

The OSPW system for Sram Red eTap consists of two oversized pulleys with 17 teeth designed to work in perfect harmony with the design of the electronic gearbox of the US company.

The revolutionary OSPW system is developed, produced and assembled by hand in Denmark, like all products ceramicspeed OSPW has also been subjected not only to strict laboratory tests but also to field tests thanks to the collaboration with the most competitive triathletes, such as Tim Don and Tyler Butterfield, but also with the most important teams in the world capable of pushing these products to the limit, thanks to these numerous tests OSPW is able to always offer performance out of the ordinary.

OSPW - Oversized Pulley Wheel Systems

No matter you are an enthusiast or a professional cyclist, your only desire is always to always get the best performance, the oversized OSPW cage and pulley system is ready to meet these needs.

The oversize system consists of two alloy pulleys equipped with the incredible ceramicspeed bearings and an ultra-light polyamide and carbon cage with titanium screws. This combination allows the OSPW system to offer better performance than standard pulleys and cages offered on the market.

Both OSPW systems for Shimano and Sram have been tested by the independent laboratory Friction Facts (which as of November 2016 has been incorporated by ceramicspeed for closer collaboration between R&D and test). These tests concluded that the Oversized Pulley Wheel System (OSPW) guarantees a level of friction of 40%-60% lower than the classic 11-tooth pulleys, in particular thanks to the increased size of the pulleys this cage allows an effective saving of watts starting from 1.6W for the OSPW Sram cage and 2.4W using the OSPW Shimano cage.

The balls used for the ceramicspeed bearings are made of high-quality ceramics that create an ultra-smooth surface with a much lower coefficient of friction than the classic steel or ceramic balls currently used on bicycles all over the world. These features allow the bearings ceramicspeed to offer incredible impact resistance but at the same time an extraordinary longevity.

Ceramic balls and their polyamide cage are matched (with a micron deviation) with the best steel sealing rings equipped with shiny surfaces with basso coefficient of friction, to complete and protect its bearings ceramicspeed uses a specific grease with low viscosity and anti-friction sealings to keep water and dirt away from ceramic balls.

To ensure the best performance, each bearing is manufactured in Denmark in regulated ventilation locations that are isolated from any type of contaminated agent and inspected four times during the production process to ensure that all components fit together perfectly.
