The new C13 chain is a fundamental element of the Ekar mechanical unit; In addition to providing an efficient transmission, in the gravel discipline the chain must work perfectly to contribute to a smooth and fast gear change, always ensuring maximum safety. With a width of only 4.9 mm, the C13 chain is 0.25 mm narrower than the 12-speed chain Campagnolo, but offers exactly the same high performance and long life, characteristics recognized on all Campagnolo chains. The C13 chain effectively mates with the special profile gear of the 1x13 speed crankset gear and Ekar sprockets for safe, efficient and smooth transmission. Despite its narrow profile, the C13 chain is very robust; its inner links in C60 steel with nickel-Teflon surface treatment withstand the highest rate of wear they are subjected to on gravel courses. The entire chain, made in the Campagnolo plant in Vicenza, is subjected to an exclusive lubrication process, with an ultrasonic bath system that guarantees that the special lubricant formula covers all the meshes deeply and evenly. The result is efficient operation and high resilience, ensuring longevity even in difficult off-road conditions, and requiring less maintenance.
